Forsyth County Participates in Statewide DUI Enforcement Program

|

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Department is currently participating in the statewide "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign. In an article posted on Forsythnews.com, Lt. Jody Chapman with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office cautions that deputies will be out in increased numbers this holiday season, until January 2, 2012. Deputies will be on high alert looking out for drunk drivers, speeding, and seatbelt use according to the release. Check points will also be utilized, as well as concentrated patrols county-wide.

The Drive Sober program is part of a national and state-wide effort by NHTSA and the Georgia Governor's Office of Highway Safety to deter drunk driving during the holiday season. The Georgia Drive Sober website contains information on the initiative, as well as a list of free ride providers and other information for motorists.
