If you have been involved in an auto accident, filing an insurance claim is one of the first steps you must take. At the scene of the accident, always make sure to get a police report. A lot of people at fault for accidents do not want the police involved and may offer to give you money without a report, but do not accept this. If you do not get a police report, insurance may not later be willing to process or payout your claim.
