Different Criminal Charges in Georgia
Don’t face the legal system without a skilled advocate on your side.
Are All Charges Permanent on My Record?
The permanency of your criminal record depends on several factors including your age at the time of the offense and the charges you were cited for. Generally, all misdemeanor and felony crimes are reported on your adult criminal record and remain on it forever. Traffic tickets will be sent to the Dept. of Driver Services and can remain visible on your driving record for up to 7 years. If you have a juvenile record- which applies to those 16 and under at the time of their offense- this record can be sealed from the public view. Finally, local ordinance violations in Georgia are not typically sent to your criminal record, but can be found using other means like the internet, depending on the city your case is in.
